The life and times of Torque Italia.

So, this thread is going to be about who we are; what we stand for; where we've come from and where we are going.

So in the not so distant past of May 2010 during Auto Italia at Brooklands a few of us bashed heads and came to the conculsion that we wanted a fresh start and a new opportunity.

Collectively we weren't blown away by the performance of our current club when it came to events and gatherings so why not try to go that extra mile?

The forum was born some days later with a small number of Founder Members who all pitched in help, ideas and one thing we needed at the time money.

Our loyalties laid firmly with the other club until this time time though since then sadly their reaction to our existance has been one thats upset many. We are seen as a direct threat rather than an opportunity to co-exist for the greater good.

The cog logo you see on the site, all of our promotional materials, stickers, clothing and banner ads was conceived around the time. The cog device representing "Torque" or motion and the Italian Colours to signify our allegance.

So far we are glad to say we have now some strong allegances with other clubs and forums such as the amazing turnout from the UK Barchetta Club, UK Mods with whom we showed at Trax, Clubcento who showed with us at Auto Italia Gaydon, Turbo Collective who provided a strong contingent of Uno Turbo's at Auto Italia Stanford Hall and many many more!

Auto Italia at Stanford Hall was our first show and we arrived with a bang, an amazing spot amongst the trees on the main drive up to the fantastic hall was our home for the day. 40 cars and at least 60 people joined us on our stand for some fun, games, cars and a BBQ.

We intend to have some form of special attraction to entertain both members and visitors alike at each show. With the kind donation from a member we suddenly had a poorly FIAT Bravo which was given a fond send of with some amazing artwork!

Later in June 2010 our second opportunity came to show and this was on foreign soil at Spa Italia in Belgium! A convoy of at least 10 Italian motors travelled from all parts of the UK on an amazing road trip through France and Belgium. Two days of mixed weather, awesome fun and some epic track driving ensued.

A quick blast over the border into Germany and onwards to The Hotel an der Nordschleife left us in our new home from home for the next few days while masses of laps around the Green Hell were etched epically into our minds.

Sadly the trip had to end and we returned to the UK in late June!

Luckily for us the story didn't end here and preparations began for our next show in the beautiful grounds of Chatsworth House in Derbyshire.

The welcoming commitee of a whole heard of sheep started an epic day where the sun shone down continually.

MITCAR literally is a great day out for all the family the theme for food was a childrens party with masses of cakes and treats.

MITCAR 2010 brought a us to a new level with something that had never happened at any show before it to any extent, amazingly hardly anyone left the stand all day!! And better yet we were the last club to want to pack up and leave, we did only in fear of being locked in for the night with the heard.

    To Be Continued............................

PS This will be a Work In Progress throughout our existance but if theres anything you'd like to add then drop me a PM
